Welcome to 'First Step Drop-in Centre' Minimize

David Carter receiving a cheque towards the new van'First Step Drop-in Centre'

We have been providing food and clothing for the homeless for over 30 years.  Initially in London and in the last 18 years here in Rochester, Kent.

We need your help to continue to feed and clothe people each week.  We have a number of faithful volunteers that give selflessly each week and are able to make a real differance, but we welcome more assistance.

We are really blessed to work out of the Quakers Meeting House every Tuesday and Thursday, where we provide a hot meal a shower and clean clothes.

David Carter is our Chairman who works with his lovely wife Doreen and daughter Clare.  They have been faithful to this calling and been blessed with a team of supporters who have served the ministry for many years and we thank you very much.

You may feel you are not called to do this type of work, which is fine, we all have different callings, however, everyone is able to contribute in one way or another.  We gratefully recieve any donations you feel led to offer, and no gift is too small click here to make a donation

Quiz Nite Friday 16th November 2007

Medway Quiz Night 2006 was a great success with over 50 people attending from local businesses around the Medway Towns.

The picture on the right shows the smug grin of Steve Gerring - MD of Medway Safety, who together with his team, managed to win by a slim margin.  He challenges the local businesses of Medway to topple his title of "Medway Quiz Night 2007 Winners"

 URGENT Minimize

VAN:
firststep_van

We have an urgent need for a van that can seat 8 to 11 people.
The old faithful VW Camper is now on its last legs.  Thank God for the faithful local Army Barracks who have kept the current van running for years (but they have told us they can't keep welding it together, there's nothing left to weld to!').
